Halloween 2012

Once again this year we kept with the tradition and had chili cheese hot dogs for dinner on Halloween.
 Jack sure enjoyed his hotdog!

Next, Jack got all dressed up in his lion costume.  If you ask him what a lion says, he will roar for you...but in a whisper. Such a sweet and gentle lion!

We went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood.  When given the opportunity to pick out what candy he wanted, he most often would choose a lollipop or smarties.  In this picture it looks like he actually was happy and walked from door to door.  That wasn't really the case though.  He was pretty grumpy for most of the evening and wanted to be carried around.  Maybe next year he will be more into it.
It was pretty funny.  He wanted to hold each piece of candy in his hand that he got instead of putting it in his bucket.  It took a few houses for him to realize that it just wasn't possible to hold all that candy.  Such a hard concept for such a little guy that just loves candy so much.
This year I dressed up as a lady with a baby in her tummy.  Okay, I guess I am a lady with a baby in my tummy, but here you can see the little one with my skeleton shirt.
37 Weeks Pregnant
As we were walking door to door we eventually came to the park with the swings.  Jack decided this was a better idea then getting candy.  He just wanted to take a candy break and go for a ride in the swing.
 Our Family - Halloween 2012
Notice we no longer have our little lion, but a skeleton. It was a warm night and it just got too hot in that costume.  Good thing we had a back-up!
Jack's bucket of candy (that mommy and daddy have really been enjoying!)
Jack and Daddy checking out all the yummy treats!

Trail Dust Cowboy

Last night we took a surprise trip to the old Trail Dust Steakhouse to visit with Mom-mom, Pepa, Aunt Hannah & Uncle Alex.  Jack is in love with that place!
Standing out on the dance floor
 Waiting out on the patio
He actually wore his cowboy hat for a good length of time! Such a cute cowboy!
These days he loves playing "games" on my phone while waiting around at restaurants.
Trail Dust has a giant slide that basically goes from the 2nd floor down to the first floor.   Hannah was so sweet to take Jack up and down the big slide about 10 times.  He was in love!!!
 Weeeee!
That is one happy cowboy!
I'm thinking we may need to bring Jack back here for his birthday since he had so much fun!

Fall

 Baking gingerbread with Mommy.
Jack is 22 months old.
Barrett and I had a date night out with Tara and Jacob at Cheesecake Factory.  It was so nice to have an evening out with grown-ups and no kiddos!
He loved drinking some yummy hot chocolate!
The swing. So peaceful. He is never quite ready to get out.

 Decorating for Fall
That pumpkin is a perfect size to make a chair.
All dressed to go to a Dress-up play date.
Mommy has a baby girl in her tummy.
Jack has french fries, ice cream, and goldfish in his tummy.
This year Jack is dressing as a lion for Halloween.  We had a play date at an Assisted Living home with our church friends.  We heard stories, sang songs, had a parade, and passed out candy to the residents.  It was the cutest thing ever...although Jack was not having a very happy and cooperative day. We still got this cute picture though.
Saturday morning donuts.  I think this was Jacks first time to get his very own big donut with sprinkles.  He was in LOVE!
Notice how he is only eating the top of the the donut with the icing and sprinkles?  There was not one sprinkle or speck of icing left uneaten.  He was sure to eat every last sprinkle that fell off onto the table.  The bottom of the donut he left though.  If there wasn't icing and sprinkles in it, he wasn't interested. Ha!
Jack came to help vote for President after eating his donut.  As a result he got an "I Voted" sticker and a lollipop.  He was having a great, sugar filled day!
Jack loves playing in the flower beds out front these days.  Plenty of leaves and dirt to play in I guess.
Our little lion got to dress up in his costume again for our S.S. class Halloween party.
 All the kiddos.
See Jack? Back row on the far left.  He once again wasn't having a very happy day. I'm thinking it s that his allergies are bothering him. Who know!
Barrett took part in the pumpkin carving contest. Yes, he has a tummy full of pizza, hamburger, ice cream, and fish.  We will have to get a more official family picture of us with our shirts on.
Jack decorated his own little pumpkin.
He also got to decorate a pumpkin sugar cookie with icing and sprinkles.
 Once again, loving that icing!
He basically just licked all the icing and sprinkles off the cookie and left the cookie. Sounds very familiar to our trip to the donut store.  This kid loves sweets!
The finished product of Barrett's pumpkin carving.
Such a cute face!
Barrett and his creation!
It has been a fun filled start to fall!

Sewing Projects for Amelia

A couple more sewing projects I've done for Amelia...
I think this will end up being Amelia's "going home" outfit

Christmas Dress
Tara and I got together one evening and made these matching Christmas dresses for our baby girls.
(not sure why the picture won't turn)

Amelia's Christmas Stocking
I had been wanting to get this done for a while now and finally got around to it.  It matches the stockings that I made for the rest of our family last year.

Fun Days Around Here

There is really no theme for these pictures.  They are just random things I want to remember.
We eat lunch at the Main Street Cafe at church most every Sunday afternoon.  It is always of course right at nap time.  This particular Sunday Jack just couldn't take it any longer and just put himself down for his own nap right there at the lunch table.
Last weekend we went to see the play "Annie" at my sister Hannah's high school.  Staring in the the play was my niece Camryn (as an orphan) and Hannah (as Lilly).  It was a great show!  Annie is one of my very favorite musicals!
Hannah and Cami after the show.
Jack has been my laundry helper recently.  It is actually quite nice that he pulls all the clothes out from the dryer so I don't need to bend down as much to do it myself.
 So sweet!
Here comes the challenging part...I need to carry the basket full of clothes AND Jack now.  It's worth it though.  He makes doing the laundry that much more exciting!
Last Wednesday morning at Bible Study, the girls at my small group table surprised me with a baby shower basket full of goodies for Amelia.  It was such a fun surprise!
Right now Jack is all about pushing things around.  Most recent is his love of pushing this shopping cart basket around the house.   Not sure what it is that makes this so exciting for him, but I'm glad he is having fun!
