Play Date with the Neighborhood Babies

Today was our first play date at our house for the new babies in the neighborhood. We had a great time! There were 6 babies there ranging in age from 8 months to 7 weeks. It is so much fun having so many babies so close to Jack's age so close by. It will also be really nice once they start kindergarten because they will already know each other. We're look forward to having monthly get togethers with these sweet little friends. All the babies lined up in age order. Thanks to Reid's mommy for adding the names and birth dates to the group picture.

12 Weeks Old

Our buddy boy is 12 weeks old. This weekend he will be turning 3 months old. Wow! I love taking these weekly pictures to see the changes that occur over time. Not sure how long it makes sense to tell people that he is "___ weeks old." You never really hear people say that their baby is like 47 weeks old or anything. That is hard to calculate into months. I guess I'll need to start referring to his age in months instead of weeks since it is going to begin to get confusing after a while. He wasn't up for smiling in this weeks edition of his weekly picture.
Jack likes his bouncy seat. He spends his time in this either when I am taking my showers or during meal time so mommy and daddy can eat with our hands free. The hands free part doesn't always work, but we try!
Jack's 2nd trip to the donut store. I'd say he looks a little upset that he didn't get to eat a donut. Soon, buddy, soon!
Trying out the bumbo chair again. He still doesn't always have complete control over his head, but he tries.
Chillin in the swing.
Jack had a bit of a cold this past weekend so he spent his nights sleeping in the swing. Thankfully he seems to be all better now! He handled it well.
Snuggling with Dad.
Jack had been fussy for me for a while this particular evening. I did all I knew to do. Barrett then took him and within about 2 minutes he was asleep resting on Daddy's chest. He had the magic touch!

My Little Helper

Jack was a great helper! While hanging out with me in the moby wrap he helped me vacuum (but fell asleep in the process), then he helped me fold the laundry (but enjoyed laying in the laundry basket more!) It's never too early to start introducing chores around the house, is it?

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patrick's Day we went over to my parents house for a yummy Irish meal of sausage and bacon sandwiches. Not everyone may think of this as an Irish meal, but my family does. Back in 2002 a group of 30 of us went on a trip to Dublin, Ireland. One of the meals many remember getting there was a sausage and bacon sandwich. So since then, that has been our meal for St. Patty's Day. Jack got all dressed up in a tie and hat for the big day. No pinches for this little man...just lots of kisses!
Jack and I also went to a St. Patrick's Day playgroup with our Sunday school class. He had fun "playing" with the other kids and going on a shamrock hunt outside.

Finally...I captured a yawn! Jack yawns all the time it seems and I think it is precious!

Birthday Parties!!!

Jack was invited to two of his friends 1st birthday parties this past weekend! This guy is only 2 months old and already filling up our weekends with activities! Ha! All ready for a party!
Jack had fun watching all the other kids and looking at the balloons at Landon's party.
Jack was a tired baby for Lucas party on Sunday but managed to wake up for a little while to enjoy the fun!
At Luca's party I got to see my old teacher friends (Luca's mom was my lunch buddy everyday back when I was a teacher) and introduce them to Jack. It was so nice seeing my buddies again.

These are the days I have waited for....

One of the things I always dreamed about doing once I was a mommy was to have days together with my sister and her babies. As kids we dreamed about living close to each other. Little did we know that we would only live a block away from each other and have baby boys just 4 weeks apart! This past week we got our baby buggies out and took our little babies on a stroll through the neighborhood with a stop at the corner store for a snack! So much fun!
Our sleepy babies
A few days later...a little shopping trip out with the boys - Jack and Griffin.
I am so thankful for these special days. It is so special to have a sister to share these days with!

1st Time in the Nursery

At 10 and a half weeks old Jack had his first stay in the church nursery. He went on Wednesday night while mommy and daddy went to choir practice. We missed him while he was there, but the nursery workers said he did great! They loved having a small baby in their classroom. He went again on Sunday morning for his first Sunday School Class at 11 weeks old. Ms. Hollie was his teacher. I was so glad to have her as his teacher since I knew her from years ago when I would work in the baby class with her. Jack on his first trip to the church nursery.

10 Weeks Old

Our sweet little man is now in the double digits (in weeks.) He turned 10 weeks old today! He started out this week well. Last night I fed him at 9:30pm, put him in his bed and he didn't wake up until 7am. That's 9 and a half hours!!!! WooHoo!!!!
He started the week with his 2 month check up. Poor little guy had to get 3 shots. He handled it well though. And the nurses loved his "Babe Magnet" shirt :-)
He rested after his shots. He was extra tired and cried a sad hurt cry some that evening. We gave him a few doses of infant Tylenol, then he felt much better by bedtime.
Tummy time for Jack and Zach
Jack had one fussy day this week so I thought I would put him in the wrap and cheer him up with a walk to the pond to feed the ducks. No, he doesn't look to excited to go, but he enjoyed it in the end.
This week I started taking Jack outside to lay down in the grass and enjoy some time in the fresh air. He loves it!
Taking in the sun outside!

Snuggle time with Mom-mom
"I'm ready for church!"
Does he have the cutest little face or what???

He tried out the bumbo for the first time today. I don't think his neck is quite strong enough for this yet. It was good practice though.
Last May right after we found out we were pregnant, my family just happended to be taking a trip to New York and Long Beach Island, New Jersey for the week. Jack's Aunt Tara bought him this t-shirt while we were there. When I was putting it on him today I was telling him that he got this shirt when he was the size of a poppyseed! It is amazing how fast he has grown - from a poppyseed size to this!

9 Weeks Old

Jack had his 2 month check-up and is doing great! His doctor said he is growing well, he is super cute, and that she loves him. What a nice doctor we have. He weighed 11 lbs. 2 oz (34th percentile) His length was 23 1/4 inches (61st percentile) and his head size was in the 12th percentile.
Our family at Monday Spaghetti Dinner night at my parents house.
Jack was bundled up warm in this bear suit for the cold walk outside.
SMILE!!!!
All last week Jack just wanted to be lying on the floor and not held. This week....snuggles!!!! I loved this of course! It was so nice to just hold and rock him while he slept on my chest.

Hanging out in Dad's office
It has been so cute to see Jack when he wakes up in the early morning. Often he wakes up happy with big smiles and giggles. What a sweetheart!
Naptime
He tends to fall asleep on the floor while we play. Jack is still a sleepy baby. Once again, asleep with his hands in the air.
Jack had a visit from his great-grandparents this week.

Jack's new trick - sticking out his tongue! Press on his nose and out comes his tongue. Ha!

We LOVE this happy baby boy!
