Maternity Pictures

Here are our maternity pictures taken when I am 33 weeks pregnant with
our first baby, a son, Jack Ryan.
I am in love with these pictures!
Just another 6 1/2 weeks or so until our little guy arrives!

Cowboy Cakes

These are the 2 western themed cakes I made this weekend for a neighbors baby shower. This was my first ever attempt at making a diaper cake (with help from my sister.) It was lots of fun and super easy to make!
My western themed cake with cow print on the bottom and bandanna print on top was a success too. I like how it turned out, it is just more time consuming to make - but worth it in the end!

Bigger Fingers = Bigger Rings

One of the many fun things about pregnancy I am learning is that your hands and feet like to swell. As a result, my shoes don't fit very well and my wedding rings aren't fitting either. So what did I do? Go shopping at Sam Moon for a temporary wedding ring, of course. Who would have known that they sold basically the same exact style ring that I already had.....only wwaaaaaayyyyyy cheaper! I couldn't believe it! As you can see in the picture the ring that is all the way on my finger is the new temporary ring and the one that won't go past my knuckle is the "real" wedding ring. I was sad my real ring wouldn't fit anymore, but finding one so similar to my real ring made it so much easier. I think now Barrett is wondering why he spent so much on a real diamond in the first place when he could have just gotten me the same looking one for much less. Ha!

Christmas Cards!!!

It is completely hard to believe, but the time is here! It is time to start thinking about ordering CHRISTMAS cards! For the past 4 years since we have been married, we have sent out photo Christmas cards each year. Every year it is the same type thing - a picture of the two of us along with the dog, signed Merry Christmas from the Walch's. Not this year though. We FINALLY have a new member of the family on the way...our first baby!!!!! I have been dreaming of sending out Christmas cards with a picture of my very own little one on it and this year is our year (even if the picture of our baby is just a sonogram picture.) I have been searching for the right photo card and layout of the card that I want to use this year and came across Shutterfly.com while searching. I was completely amazed with the huge selection of photo cards available. Something special I have found at shutterfly is the variety of cards that allow you to write a little more on it than just signing your name at the bottom of the card. I remember growing up my mom would often send out a Christmas letter giving updates on the family. These days with photo cards being so easy to order I think people have gotten away from sharing updates on the family. A few of my favorite cards from shutterfly (shown below) offer a great amount of space on them to share more of what is going on in life with your family, but you still have the ease and convenience of just ordering the cards without hours spent typing out a long letter, making a bunch of copies, then having to fold the letters and stuff envelopes.
And for you bloggers out there - bloggers get 50 FREE holiday cards from shutterfly!!!!! To sign up, click here.To view options for Christmas Cards click, Here

Which card will the Walch's be sending out this year? You'll have to wait and see, but you can for sure expect that it will be coming from shutterfly.com
Merry Christmas!!!!
