A Weekend with GramPam & Pa-Pa

***Most pictures shown are compliments of Pa-Pa's picture taking. Thank you Papa for always being fabulous at documenting so many moments! :-)
Nothing better than being dressed up in your batman PJ's and wearing Pa-Pa's fun hat!
I'm in love with this white summer dress & big white flower (and of course in love with the baby girl too.)

Cousins - Mackenzie, Amelia, Jack & Preston
(Jack still gets this blank stare on his face when having his picture taken. This too shall pass.  Where is that big beautiful smile?)
Pa-Pa, GramPam & all 4 of their grandkids.
We went to Preston's karate tournament.  1st place for Preston! Woohoo!
I love that Pa-Pa got pictures of Jack in his Sunday School class at church. I never even thought of taking his picture in there but it is definitely a memory I am happy to have with these pictures. He sure does love his class and his teacher Miss Toni.  He is excited to go there each week and comes home to try to tell a bible story and sing songs!

Leaving church with his monkey backpack.  Where did I get this grown up looking kid?!?
Slowly improving on this smiling for a camera thing (if you can call this an improvement.) When told to smile and show his teeth (hoping that he will give a big smile) he opens his mouth and actually shows us his teeth. Nice! Jack is wearing one of his favorite shirts that he has right now...the helicopter shirt.
Amelia having playtime on the floor with Daddy.  Look at that grip she has on his nose and that big slobbery kiss she is giving him!  Priceless!!!
Beautiful weather for some outside swing time.
A relaxing swing outside on Mothers Day.
 Bedtime storytime with Pa-Pa
Amelia, as happy as can be in her exersaucer.
Snuggle time for Java and Jack.
Jack was sitting on this little chair in the kitchen watching sesame street right before lunch time.  Not long later, this is how he was found.  Sound asleep! We tried waking him up, but he was out!  Daddy picked him up and took him to go lay down in his crib.  He snored the whole trip up the stairs.  Looks to me like he was exhausted from a fun weekend!

Mother's Day & Amelia's Baby Dedication

It was a great Mother's Day!  It was also the day we dedicated Amelia to the Lord!
She got all dressed up in a pretty pink dress, lace leggings, and flower bow with pearls for the occasion. (Thanks Mom-mom for the beautiful dress for the special day.)
It certainly is a privilege to raise this little lady and an honor that the Lord has entrusted such a precious little one to our care!

Cousin Eliana was also dedicated at the same time.

With GramPam & Pa-Pa - so grateful they were able to come visit for the special day!
 With Mom-mom & Pepa

 Meeting Dr. Graham
It was a Happy Mothers Day! So special to get to be there with my mom & mother-in-law.

 Mother's Day 2013
Love, love, love that I get to be the mom to these 2 precious babies, Jack & Amelia!!! After a busy morning at church, we had a yummy lunch out at a Chinese buffet with all you can eat crab legs, and just relaxed at home the rest of the afternoon.
More pics of the weekend to come....

Sitting Up

At just over 5 months old, Amelia is sitting up! She first sat up on Monday 5/6/13. Incredible that she is already old enough to do that!  Barrett was getting her out of her pack n play and tried sitting her up in there.  Well it worked!  She was amazed with herself! She was really laughing while trying to stay sitting up.  She must be very proud of herself. We sure are! We aren't to the point where we will leave her unattended to sit up. We are still there to catch her as she tumbles over.  As of today, she will last close to a minute or so at times before tumbling over.  So much fun!

Amelia is 5 Months Old

Amelia turned 5 months old on April 26th. Time is flying but we are enjoying every minute (at least most every minute :-)
Amelia weighs about 15 lbs.
She is in size 2 diapers.
She wears 3-6 month and a few 9 month outfits.
Amelia is getting a little better at sleeping during the night but still wakes up some during the night. She will fall asleep maybe 8:30 or so, I normally feed her again around 10:30 and she will wake up to eat anytime between 5 and 7 normally but with several wake ups for her paci before then.
She continues to nurse first thing in the morning, and have four 6-8 oz bottles throughout the day. Her naps are very unpredictable. Some days I'm lucky to get a couple 30 minute naps in.  Other days she will sleep for a couple hours straight.  Still trying to figure this girl out.
Amelia started rolling from her back to tummy this month and is a pro now! She has decided not to roll from her tummy to back now though, so once she rolls over, she is stuck on her tummy. She will last a good bit of time there before wanting to be picked up.
I'm beginning to wonder how much longer these headband bows are going to last on her head.  She has discovered that they are up there and will pull them down over her eyes on occasion. Hope that hair comes in soon so we can clip a bow in that hair.  Although I guess she could just as easily pull that bow out too!
The last few times I have dropped Amelia off at the nursery at church she has given me a sad curled under lip.  Its so pitiful! But she is happy and playing with Ms. Charlotte before I even walk away. I'm sure hoping that separation anxiety isn't going to start already!
Amelia is such a happy girl! She LOVES to smile and laugh! And really laugh! It is so precious!
She loves to be held but is slowly getting better at having time down on the floor playing too.  She just loves being around people and having someone in view.
 Take one...not so happy
Take Two the next day...Much better

Sleepy head
Still loving playing dress up with my baby girl.  This is the outfit I made for Amelia right after I found out I was having a girl.  So fun to see her wearing it!  Side note....The last few weeks on Tuesday nights my sister Tara and I have been having sewing nights. So far we have each made a new outfit for each of our girls.  It has been so much fun!

Fishing Champion!!!

One of the things Barrett looks forward to each year is the fishing tournament in our neighborhood. This past weekend was the big day for the spring tournament.  He scored big time this year!  He had his rods (all 4 of them) in the water right at 7am when the tournament began.  He ended up with 6 big catfish!!! Woohoo!
It was also catch and keep, so he was able to bring all these home for dinner! They were so yummy! He made blackened catfish. It was soooo tasty!
(He stayed after the tournament was over to fish a little longer and ended up with 5 more fish)
Jack liked seeing all Daddy's fish.
Mom-mom came to watch the fishing too.
Amelia - all worn out from fishing :-)
Jack...waiting to find out if Daddy won...
.....and the winner is.... BARRETT! I'm so proud of him!!!He won for being the overall champion! Most fish, biggest fish, longest fish, you get the idea. He got lots of fun prizes - a fishing pole, tackle bag full of goodies, gift cards, and...
 The Champion Fisherman Trophy
They did drawings to win prizes for people that participated in the tournament.  Cami won the grand prize which was a $50 gift card to Walmart! She went and got herself a beautiful new bike.  Way to go Cami!!!
