Our Little Pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch.  I love that place.  It was Amelia's first visit to a pumpkin patch and the first year I feel like Jack really got into all the fun. The weather couldn't have been any better!  Sunny and in the 70's. A perfect fall day for the pumpkin patch.
Barrett took the 2 kids on a train ride.
Play I-spy here.  See if you can find them on the train.
 We went on a hayride.
 Amelia's first hayride.
I love that this place has such great photo props all set up.
Amelia's "My First Pumpkin Patch" picture.
Jack is nearly 3 feet tall this year.
The Duck Dynasty crew was there too!
Jack made his way through the hay maze several times all by himself.
He played on the train playground.
He got his picture with "mouse"
Still hard for me to believe we have 2 little people in our family.  Love them so much!  This is the best we could do on a picture of them together. Jack is 2 1/2 years old.  Amelia is 10 months old.

Amelia was not her normal happy self.  See the snack in her hand.  Had to bribe her with a snack sitting on the pumpkin for her to stand there alone.  Still no smile but at least she isn't screaming.

 Jumping in the jump house.
The boys went in a house made of pumpkins.
Jack and Amelia each took home a mini pumpkin.
We went to Cici's for dinner once we left. Delicious! It was a perfect autumn Sunday afternoon!

Our Trip to the Fair

We went to the state fair last Thursday.  It was Amelia's first trip to the fair. We like to go on cinimark day when we can get in free with a cinimark movie stub.
Big Tex and our little lamb.  Jack wasn't  quite tall enough to get his head in the hole.  Still cute though.
Jack went to the kid area where he could pretend to be a farmer.
Feeding the chickens,
 picking vegetables,
 and riding a tractor.

Then we went to the petting zoo where where Jack fed the animals.
Amelia was busy looking at all the animals.
 So proud of himself!
Next up... the car show.  Amelia sat in the back seat of this convertible.
Jack was the driver.  Everyone watch out!
The best we could do for a family picture at the fair.  Jack is 2 1/2 and Amelia is 10 months.
 The new Big Tex!
Lunch - turkey leg! This year they offered fried thanksgiving dinner but we stuck with our other regular fair food purchases - chicken fried bacon and a funnel cake.  And of course a stop at the vita mix demo to get some inspiration on new things to make with my vita mix.
Amelia's first experience eating a turkey leg.  She thought it was pretty yummy too!
Relaxing on a hammock just before leaving from our busy day at the fair.  I'd say this was a very successful trip to the fair.  We were there from 10-4 and the kids did a great job being out and about the entire time.  They both drifted off to sleep at some point in the stroller.  I love that it is fall and that we can enjoy some fun outdoor activities now that it has cooled off some.

Amelia Is 10 Months Old

Sweet Little Amelia turned 10 months old on September 26th!
Amelia wears size 9-12 month clothes, size 2-3 shoes, and size 3 diapers.
She has blue eyes.
Her hair is a light brown on the top of her head but seems to be more blonde in the back of her head.  It is barely long enough to clip a bow into, but can be done for short periods of time.
Amelia crawls...fast!  She cruises along the furniture and will let go and just stand there but has not yet taken her first step.
She seems to be going through separation anxiety.  We got paged for the first time at church this month.  She just wanted mommy.  Once she was picked up she was happy as could be.
Amelia has 4 teeth - 2 on top, 2 on the bottom.
Amelia got a hold of Jacks straw sippy cup this month.  To my surprise she could drink out of it.  So she now has her own pink sippy cup with a straw and is loving it!!!
She almost always has a smile on her face and brings a smile to everyone that she can.
Playtime with Eliana.  It's a cheerio buffet!
Outdoor playtime on the front porch.  Amelia LOVES being outside!  If I open the back door (like to let Java out) but don't go outside with her, she gets very upset .
 Chillin' in the swing
Crawling in the grass for the first time
She thinks she is so big.  She's ready to hop on that tricycle.
Jack and Amelia LOVE each other so much!
Nap time has been in the swing.  Amelia fights going to sleep.  She doesn't like to miss out on anything.  Lately the swing is where she has been taking her naps.  Whatever works.  Bed time at night is much easier for her.  We give her a bottle and rock for a while.  Often she will fall asleep while rocking but other times we can just lay her down awake and she will put herself to sleep.  It varies by the day.  This month she has done SO much better with sleeping through the night!  Yay!
Amelia is in to EVERYTHING!!!  She is always on the go and likes to taste whatever she can get into her mouth.  A few days ago we were on the front porch and I was holding her on the porch swing.  She was very wiggly and wanted to get down so I figured I'd just take her inside to play so she wouldn't eat everything off the ground outside.  Within a matter of 3-5  minutes while she was free on the floor she...knocked over a plant, chewed on one of my shoes, got a taste of dog food, got into Javas water bowl, and climbed a few steps up the stairs (I had forgotten to close the gate).  All in a matter of minutes!  We went back outside.  At that point the outdoors option actually ended up sounding easier.  I thought our house was baby proof, but apparently not baby proof enough for this baby!
She has a shoe obsession.  But not to wear them. She LOVE to chew the strap on the shoes. Obsessed!
It has begun to get a tiny bit cooler outdoors.  Time to bring out the fall wardrobe.
Amelia loves to eat! Yes, she loves to put everything (good or bad) she finds in her mouth, but I guess that ends up helping when it is actually time for a meal because she will eat whatever fingerfoods you put in front of her. She eats 3 meals a day at the table with us and has around four 6 ounce bottles a day.

A Day at the Beach

Last weekend we went for the first time to a mini beach in Little Elm off of Lake Lewisville.  Not sure how we have lived so close to "the beach" for the last 5 years and have never been before.  It was pretty cool - sand, water & sunshine!  Ok, I titled this post "a day at the beach" but it should actually say something like "30 minutes at the beach."  We weren't completely prepared to spend any long amount of time outside in the sun.  We just wanted to get a feel for the place.  We will definitely be going back with all our beach gear sometime soon!
Jack loved playing in the sand.  Lots of other people were there in swimsuits swimming in the water.  We will need to add swimsuits to our list for the next trip out there.

Us girls just watched the boys play.
So fun to have a little glimpse of a beach vacation on the sand and only be a short drive from home.
