Well I'm a little (over 2 weeks) late at posting Jack's 7 months stats, but I am just enjoying every second I can with this little man. I don't want to waste time at the computer when I could be playing with him. But Jack is snuggled up cozy in his bed now sound asleep, so here it is... Sweet baby Jack Ryan has been here in our arms for 7 fabulous months!
He weighs approx. 15lbs 8 oz (as of his 7 1/2 month doctors appointment yesterday). This keeps him in the 4th percentile in weight for his age. Dr. Terry says he may just be a little guy and isn't concerned at this point.
Jack loves showing off his two bottom teeth with such cute smiles these days.

Jack nurses about every 3 hours during the day. When given a bottle, he drinks about 4-6 ounces. We tried feeding him baby food this month. We tried rice, oatmeal, green beans, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce, pears, and peaches. Of those, you kind of like bananas and peaches. But by like, I mean you may eat 1/4 of a teaspoon. The doctor thinks this may just mean that you will be one of the few that just don't like baby food and that you may just go straight to finger foods. It may be due to the consistency of the baby food, the lack of flavor in it, or that you just want the Independence and control of feeding yourself. Time will tell. For now you will continue to drink your milk, we will try feeding you baby food on occasion just to try it out again, we will start giving you vitamins that will give you more iron, and we will try some finger foods as soon as you are ready (around 8 or 9 months) and hope that you will eat something.
Jack spends lots of his time sitting on the living room floor playing with all of his toys. He had somehow gotten his keys (one of his favorite toys right now) stuck in his overalls. Maybe he was trying to put them in his pocket like he sees mommy and daddy do with their keys.
With soooo many 100+ days of hot, hot weather this summer, we let Jack chill in the backyard pool to cool off. Currently he does the best just laying down in shallow water versus sitting up in it. He still refuses to sit sometimes (or lots of times) by just keeping his back and legs stiff and not bending. So its easiest to just lay him down.
Jack wears size 2 diapers. For clothes sizes he wears 3-6 months, 6-9 months, and even some 12 month outfits.
His eyes are a light blue color.
He is getting more and more hair everyday! It is a medium brown color and even seems to have a little bit of a red tint to it.
Here Jack had gotten way too worn out from playing on his mat, so he put himself down for a nap right in the middle of play time. Normally he will take one or two shorter naps in the morning time and maybe one longer 2+ hour nap in the afternoon. But really each day is different. Really, he just goes with the flow. If I put him in his bed for a nap and he is tired, he will fall asleep within a few minutes, otherwise he just rolls around and will talk for a long time. At night Jack has been going to bed between 9 and 10pm and will normally sleep 8 or 9 hours, waking up around 5:30 or 6:30am. About half the time he won't go back to sleep after eating. If he does go back to sleep, it is by snuggling up in the big bed between mommy and daddy for another hour or so which I love!
We had our very last Story Time at the library for the summer. We will miss it although I think I probably enjoyed story time more than Jack did.
