I went with my mom and some of the nieces and nephews to a local pumpkin patch yesterday evening. It was fabulous! I for sure want to make this a tradition to bring Jack here every year in the fall! Free hayride, free bounce houses, free hay maze, and lots of great picture opportunities! The kids LOVED it!!!!
My pumpkin belly and I at 30 weeks!!!!
I can't wait to get pictures of Jack with all these pumpkins next year!

29 Weeks
How Far Along: 29 Weeks - 11 Weeks to go!!!!
Size of Baby: He is around 15 inches and 2 1/2 pounds
Gender: A sweet and handsome little baby BOY!
Movement: He is a wild guy this week. I notice him moving the most when I am sitting or laying down. Often you can just watch my belly and see him bouncing around. He has not yet been so active during the night that he hasn't let me sleep. He is a good little guy.
Sleep: I am sleeping pretty well at night still. I'm just getting up a few times a night for the restroom. I don't really take naps during the day but I do get a good 9 hours or so of sleep each night. I will admit that I did take one 2 hour nap this week which I did really enjoy.
Symptoms: Well, it hit this week....stretch marks that is. :-( There are little purplish marks towards the bottom part of my stomach. Thankfully I have never been one to wear a bikini to the pool so I guess it is no big deal. It does make me want to go ahead and get my pregnancy pictures done soon though before my belly is covered in these lovely marks. I have also begun to notice more pressure up against my ribs. I tend to kind of lean back when I sit now to relieve some of that pressure.

Cravings: FOOD! I am a girl that can eat right now! The other evening we ate a good sized dinner. A few hours later right before bed I got really hungry so went and had a bowl of cereal. Around 4:30 the next morning I woke up super hungry. I didn't get up to eat then but for about the next hour or so I was laying in bed thinking about how badly I wanted to get up for a snack. Jack must be going through a growth spurt.
Emotions: Super excited!
Best Moment of the Week: Feeling Jack move, move, move and getting his itty bitty clothes all washed and put away in his room.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Just today I scheduled an appointment for our 3D/4D sonogram on October 30. I have been looking forward to having one of these sonograms done for a long time and am so excited that Jack is the right size to get a good clear picture of his little face. I am really looking forward to seeing what he looks like!!!

Clean Baby Boy Clothes
Today I did my first (of many) loads of cute little baby boy laundry. It is so much fun to see these tiny little things that Jack will be wearing once he arrives.
A basket of clean baby boy clothes!
Some of my favorite outfits of Jack's so far....

Jack's Nursery
We worked long and hard this past week getting Jack's nursery painted and all of his furniture put together. The color of the walls is called "asparagus" although I would say it turned out a bit brighter than any asparagus I have ever seen. The darker colored furniture helps tone down the bright walls some.
I made these frames with his name to hang over his crib.
The Crib - my uncle was visiting this weekend and informed us that the baby may sleep a little better if we put a mattress in the crib. Ha! The mattress and bedding will be coming soon.
It took many hours of measuring and taping off these straight lines in the dormer window area to paint blue and green stripes, but the end result was well worth the work.
I found material several months ago that I fell in love with. So far I have made his curtains and his letters for his name out of the material. Eventually I will make some other things out of it - some pieces of his bedding, a throw pillow for the rocking chair, and who knows what else.
I found this poem that I LOVED online, so then painted it on a canvas to hang in Jack's room.
We got his crib at Target.
The wardrobe and dresser/changing table are from Ikea.
The rocking chair was given to us by Jack's Uncle Brantley and Aunt Melissa. It is so comfortable and will get a lot of use in the years to come!
.
We are in love with Jack's nursery. All the major parts of it are finished. Now all we need is the little guy!

27 Weeks
How Far Along: 27 Weeks!!! This means I am now in my 3rd trimester!!!!
Size of Baby: He is now about 2 pounds and around 15 inches long.
Maternity Clothes: Most everything I wear these days is maternity.
Gender: BOY!!!!
Movement: He is an active little guy. I feel him move throughout the day, but I notice him the most when I am sitting or laying down.
What I Miss: Nothing
Sleep: I sleep pretty good. The main interruptions right now are my allergies keeping me up or getting up to go to the restroom several times a night.
Symptoms: a growing belly, loving to eat, out of breath, and many trips to the restroom - I really don't have anything to complain about at all. About this growing belly though, I will say that I am always amazed with these weekly pictures we take of my growing belly (we take a picture each week, I just don't post them every week.) After Barrett takes the picture and I look at it, I can never believe how large I look! I really don't feel that big at all.
Cravings: I still enjoy my cereal each morning. I like eating soup. Besides these couple routine things, there really hasn't been any major things recently that I just have to have.
Aversions: I still don't really like the idea of seafood although I have branched out and had a little shrimp and crab in the recent weeks.
Emotions: So happy and excited!!!! Each time I feel Jack kick I am reminded of how blessed we are that the Lord chose us to be the parents of our little baby Jack!
Best Moment of the Week: This past week we did MAJOR work in the baby's room. It is coming together quite nicely. We are very proud of all we accomplished this week. Pictures of the room will be posted shortly.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Seeing Jack in less than 3 months!
Biggest Catch Yet
Originally catch and keep was only for the month of August and September. Barrett said he had some great news for me the other day - catch and keep has been extended for the month of October! Of course I was thrilled....okay....not really. I do love the times sitting out by the lake in this beautiful weather, I just don't overly enjoy the bringing it home to fillet part. At least I'm not the one filleting all of these great finds. He always takes care of that.
What I do LOVE is the enjoyment Barrett gets out of all these fish that he is catching! We have a freezer full of catfish ready for a fish fry - I'd say about 15 or so fish. This last catch of his was the biggest one yet - about 25 inches long and 4 pounds!
When we got home after fishing, Java was curious of what was going on. She was sticking her head out from under the gate getting a look at the fish as it was ready to be cleaned.

Texas State Fair 2010
We took a trip to the Texas State Fair this week. We decided to go on a weekday when the crowds were not as big. We saw online that if you go on Thursday, you can get in for FREE with a Cinemark movie ticket stub versus paying the $15 entry fee into the fair. Unfortunately we had thrown away all of our movie stubs. My sister was gracious enough to give us an old movie stub of hers but we still needed one more. Our idea was to just stop by the $1 movie theater to buy a cheap ticket (with no plans of watching the movie) then head off for a day at the fair. The one thing we didn't consider was that the theater wouldn't be open yet. So what do we do (or should I say my wonderful husband)???? Yes, he walked around the theater parking lot for about 5 minutes until he found a ticket stuck in the bushes! Ha! Is he good and creative or what??? So the cost of entering the fair = FREE!!!
Big Tex
Here I am with baby Jack in my tummy in front of big tex - his first trip to the fair!
