This was the first year we stayed home to pass out candy to all the trick or treaters. We had a blast! The weather was perfect to sit out on the front porch and pass out candy. We had a great turn out with many kids in such adorable costumes.
Barrett had just gone fishing and brought home 7 new catfish to add to our collection. He thought it would be fun to ask the kids if they would rather candy or a catfish. Ha! Silly guy. All the kids (and parents) got a kick out of it.

Candy or catfish?????
I decided to dress Jack and my big tummy up this year as a "Jack" O Lantern. Thought it would be appropriate since the baby's name is Jack and I am round like a pumpkin right now. Fun!

3D/4D Ultrasound Pictures of Jack
We went this weekend to have a 3D/4D ultrasound done of our little guy Jack at 30 weeks. He is absolutely precious!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing thing to be able to get a glimpse of what our little baby boy will look like once he is born while he is still in Mommy's tummy. He cooperated so well for his photo session and is very photogenic! We have found that he loves to have his little hands up near his face. His cheeks are so big, round, and cute. We saw him with the hiccups. It was really neat to feel him hiccup and see it on the screen at the same time. He gave us one short glimpse of having one of his eyes open. His toes seem to be long and he likes to fan them out. He is still for sure a BOY!!!!! We had a great experience! As a keepsake we have a fantastic 30 minute long video of Jack along with a CD of 97 incredible pictures of him. Here are a few of our favorite pictures we got of our little Jack Ryan.
Resting his chin on his fist
Here you can see his face, both hands, and one of his feet.
Perfect fingers!
His cute long toes all fanned out

Precious big, round cheeks

Just about 10 more weeks and we will see this precious baby face to face! We are so excited and honored to have the incredible privilege of being parents. The Lord has been SO good to us!
"You saw me before I was born.
Everyday of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."

Pumpkin Patch
I went with my mom and some of the nieces and nephews to a local pumpkin patch yesterday evening. It was fabulous! I for sure want to make this a tradition to bring Jack here every year in the fall! Free hayride, free bounce houses, free hay maze, and lots of great picture opportunities! The kids LOVED it!!!!
My pumpkin belly and I at 30 weeks!!!!
I can't wait to get pictures of Jack with all these pumpkins next year!

29 Weeks
How Far Along: 29 Weeks - 11 Weeks to go!!!!
Size of Baby: He is around 15 inches and 2 1/2 pounds
Gender: A sweet and handsome little baby BOY!
Movement: He is a wild guy this week. I notice him moving the most when I am sitting or laying down. Often you can just watch my belly and see him bouncing around. He has not yet been so active during the night that he hasn't let me sleep. He is a good little guy.
Sleep: I am sleeping pretty well at night still. I'm just getting up a few times a night for the restroom. I don't really take naps during the day but I do get a good 9 hours or so of sleep each night. I will admit that I did take one 2 hour nap this week which I did really enjoy.
Symptoms: Well, it hit this week....stretch marks that is. :-( There are little purplish marks towards the bottom part of my stomach. Thankfully I have never been one to wear a bikini to the pool so I guess it is no big deal. It does make me want to go ahead and get my pregnancy pictures done soon though before my belly is covered in these lovely marks. I have also begun to notice more pressure up against my ribs. I tend to kind of lean back when I sit now to relieve some of that pressure.

Cravings: FOOD! I am a girl that can eat right now! The other evening we ate a good sized dinner. A few hours later right before bed I got really hungry so went and had a bowl of cereal. Around 4:30 the next morning I woke up super hungry. I didn't get up to eat then but for about the next hour or so I was laying in bed thinking about how badly I wanted to get up for a snack. Jack must be going through a growth spurt.
Emotions: Super excited!
Best Moment of the Week: Feeling Jack move, move, move and getting his itty bitty clothes all washed and put away in his room.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Just today I scheduled an appointment for our 3D/4D sonogram on October 30. I have been looking forward to having one of these sonograms done for a long time and am so excited that Jack is the right size to get a good clear picture of his little face. I am really looking forward to seeing what he looks like!!!

Clean Baby Boy Clothes
Today I did my first (of many) loads of cute little baby boy laundry. It is so much fun to see these tiny little things that Jack will be wearing once he arrives.
A basket of clean baby boy clothes!
Some of my favorite outfits of Jack's so far....

Jack's Nursery
We worked long and hard this past week getting Jack's nursery painted and all of his furniture put together. The color of the walls is called "asparagus" although I would say it turned out a bit brighter than any asparagus I have ever seen. The darker colored furniture helps tone down the bright walls some.
I made these frames with his name to hang over his crib.
The Crib - my uncle was visiting this weekend and informed us that the baby may sleep a little better if we put a mattress in the crib. Ha! The mattress and bedding will be coming soon.
It took many hours of measuring and taping off these straight lines in the dormer window area to paint blue and green stripes, but the end result was well worth the work.
I found material several months ago that I fell in love with. So far I have made his curtains and his letters for his name out of the material. Eventually I will make some other things out of it - some pieces of his bedding, a throw pillow for the rocking chair, and who knows what else.
I found this poem that I LOVED online, so then painted it on a canvas to hang in Jack's room.
We got his crib at Target.
The wardrobe and dresser/changing table are from Ikea.
The rocking chair was given to us by Jack's Uncle Brantley and Aunt Melissa. It is so comfortable and will get a lot of use in the years to come!
.
We are in love with Jack's nursery. All the major parts of it are finished. Now all we need is the little guy!
